Tammy P. Friederichs is a partner and co-founder of Friederichs & Thompson.  Ms. Friederichs started working in the employment law field as a law clerk in 1989, graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 1991, and has been practicing employment law since 1992.  She is licensed in Minnesota's state and federal courts.

Ms. Friederichs concentrates her practice in the areas of employment litigation and consulting in many aspects of business, employment and human resources law.

In the litigation area, Ms. Friederichs has represented hundreds of individuals and many businesses in litigation and administrative matters.  Ms. Friederichs is a proponent of Alternative Dispute Resolution and has settled hundreds of disputes through settlement negotiations, facilitated mediations, arbitrations, and the administrative processes. 

In the consulting area, Ms. Friederichs has provided legal advice, consultation and assistance to numerous businesses and individuals to amicably resolve employment disputes before those disputes rise to the level of litigation.  Ms. Friederichs assists business clients with drafting and implementation of employment policies, training needs, and efforts to comply with state and federal employment laws.  She assists clients with drafting, analyzing, and negotiating employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, non-compete provisions, and separation agreements.

Ms. Friederichs is a frequent speaker on employment law topics to a wide variety of business audiences, including human resources professionals and business owners.  She is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association, Minnesota Women Lawyers, and the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce.  She lives in Hastings, Minnesota and takes an active role in the community.

Stephen M. Thompson is a partner and co-founder of Friederichs & Thompson.  Mr. Thompson began as working as a litigation law clerk in 1995 and has been practicing law since 1997.  Prior to co-founding Friederichs & Thompson, Mr. Thompson worked as an in-house corporate attorney for a Fortune 500 company and in private practice in the areas of employment and business law.

Mr. Thompson provides litigation and consulting services in a wide range of employment and business law issues.  He represents individuals and businesses involved in litigation, employment, human resources, and business law.

Mr. Thompson concentrates his litigation practice in the areas of employment and business law.  In addition to representing numerous clients in State and Federal Courts, Mr. Thompson has represented numerous clients in arbitrations, mediations, and administrative proceedings.  Mr. Thompson represents clients in Unemployment, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Minnesota Department of Human Rights, Merit Systems Protection Board and other federal and state agency proceedings.  Mr. Thompson also advises clients on employment contracts, policies and practices, including hiring and termination decisions, compliance with discrimination statutes, employment handbooks, family and medical leaves, reductions in force, employment contracts, and compensation matters.

Mr. Thompson is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts in Minnesota.  He is a member of the Hennepin County and Minnesota Bar Associations.

Mr. Thompson obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota--Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
